This former multi-storey mill site was zoned for industrial development due to its proximity to the local cluster of employment estates. Given the industrial planning allocation, a complicated planning process ensued resulting in a series of public meetings and general lobbying to directly address concerns from the local community and the loss of the landmark building.
A detailed planning permission was secured for a 15,000sq.ft. food store and 10,000sq.ft. non-food retail unit all of which was presold to Aldi.
